Cape Chin is nestled a stones throw from the famous Bruce Trail that features geographic wonders such as the Devil's Monument and lookout. To the south, visitors can enjoy the dramatic scenery of the Cape Croker Indian Reserve or Lion's Head Provincial Nature Reserve. To the north lies the Bruce Peninsula National Park, Tobermory and the ferry to Manitoulin Island. Wave action from a post-glacial lake 5,500 years ago has carved a wonderous collection of cliffs, limestone overhangs and large caves throughout the peninsula. The terrain is ideal for exploration, adventure, and tranquil times.

The Bruce Peninsula is protected and designated as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve and Dark Sky Community. We are so close to nature on our 7 acre property that many students return home with tales of seeing black bears through windows while performing massage in class! Yes, this is black bear country! If you see bears do not approach or feed them, simply enjoy your ‘Cape Chin’ experience - seeing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Students also tell of hearing the howl of a solitary wolf or the collective howls of many wolf packs at dusk as they prepare to turn in for the night under starry jet-black night skies. What other school of Natural Medicine offers such an ‘up-close and personal’ look at Mother Nature while you immerse yourself in week-long, intensive training sessions? Classes start at 10:00 a.m. each day (we are on ‘Peninsula time’ here) allowing students to hike the many trails, stroll nearby beaches or relax with a book in a hammock before class – your time is your own before and after class in this relaxed ‘retreat-style’ setting. Classes finish at 5:00 p.m. daily.
